Monday Links

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Here is another set of links to get you into the groove of things this week.

I found an interesting article this morning from AIGA Minnesota’s website. If you don’t know what AIGA is, it’s the national graphic design association. Recently two design contests from Minneapolis/ St. Paul area were published.  The President of AIGA MN’s board responded to these contests in a not so supportive voice explaining a designers take on spec. work. Take a few minutes to read this article. It is good knowledge not only about spec. work in design contests but its also for people who may not know much about the importance of design and the relationship with a designer and their client. Check out a very inspirational, good quality package design blog called The Dieline. This website is great for contemporary package design. Remember, good shelf presence makes your product stand out above others and also makes your product more believable. This same idea goes for overall design in your business.

*Insty-Prints offers many design and marketing services as well as quality printing.

Not sure how to build an online presence. Here is an article with steps on how to start. If you are a new business coming into the market- don’t underestimate the power of Facebook.

Just for fun- have you ever heard of Paper Quilling? Here are few links to get you interested- I know I am!! :)
